~Daytona BEACH~
Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Guess i should continue blogging about my trip before the memory fades off gradually. haha. So next up, DAYTONA BEACH. We were really disappointed after we alighted the greyhound bus after 17hours of journey from Washington, DC. The whole place is quiet and dead, with only Motor-car shops one after another. ~boring. The exciting part is the weather. Once again, i have to admit that i miss the WARMTH when i stepped out of enclosed areas. woohoo, the warmth is so comfortable. Take a deep breath ~ nice....

Checked in to SAXONY inn and don't you think it sounds like "SEX only"? ok that's lame. Well, the place is not as fantastic as other motels that we've passed by earlier on, but that's where we met dearest Dennis <-- the receptionist who offers sooooo much help (ya, the microwave oven too!)

Daytona beach is quiet on weekdays. Heard that over the wkends, it's crazy. Visitors drive their cars onto the sandy beach, loud music, more babes n hunks tanning etc. Well, wrong time again and there's not much chance for me to "people-watch". Hmm, the peace is another kind of pleasure too! Decided to close my eyes for awhile and ta-dahhh, i fell asleep under the sun for 1hr. I'm totally burnt on 1side!

Went for GO-kart. Watching the 3staff at work are more enjoyable than go-karting. They jumped around like monkeys and used Saranya's camera to take random shots of themselves. What an easy job for them.

How can we miss the DAYTONA international SPEEDWAY? A waste that no race going on during that period and anyway, the most we can afford is juz a tour around the magnificent track. Check out how steep the track is tilted and car racers have to maintain a certain high speed in order to negotiate the turn. Wow, sounds exciting. Our tour guide saw a piece of screw on the track and said "who want's a souvenir? that piece lying there flew off from the racing car."

I'm glad we were introduced to "Red tails" so that our night at Daytona Beach doesn't end too early with nothin much fulfilled. Saw spontaneous bar-top dancers and pubbing scenes in the Florida. Most importantly, we gotta know the mexican chap through Dennis, RAFAEL!!! Yeah, he made a positive difference to my trip and i really appreciate that. Florida will not be that unforgettable without you guys.

Other things we did at Daytona Beach: walking across bridges to cross the 'river', attempting to walk 4km under blazing hot sun but failed, pizza buffet, chocolate factory tour, free internet access in library etc. alright, up next will be Miami Beach.
