touring Kitchener (by default) . . .
Saturday, January 14, 2006

We finally get to experience one of the warmer days in Canada which is approximately 6 degrees celcius. It's funny because we call this "warm". Well, as long as there's no wind chill, everything is fine even if it really hits their yearly record of -30degrees celcius. The locals have been warning me and remindin me to prepare myself of the "CANADA'S WINTER".

OK, back to what i gonna talk today. And so the weather was
thought to be supposedly good, Joo, Sara and I decided to explore new grounds. Instead of taking a bus to any shopping mall, we chose to JUST walk along the streets of UPTOWN WATERLOO to check out the houses and small shops (hopefully we'll see a different side of "boring" waterloo).

Being our virgin adventure, we accidentally passed uptown waterloo and ended up in Kitchener (For your information, Waterloo and Kitchener are 2small towns that are close to each other and they are normally known as "twin cities"). Weather wasnt that great afterall as it started raining. So our first stop is Market Square. Damn, looks are really deceiving. Though the building looks futuristic, the "square" is spiritless man! We entertain ourselves with the candy bus and bought a bubble gum each. Just look how spastic we are with the huge ball of bubble gum inour mouth. Artificial watermelon flavour. yucks!

In order not to make this a wasted trip, we try to take as many pictures as possible despite the drizzle. Bus journey to that sucky place is $2.50CAD(student price:$1.25CAD), so better not waste the $$. We entered a shop called "out of the past" Wanted to try those fairytales costumes but too shy to do so. Thus, the most we can do is to make a fool of ourselves with the veil. Hope we don;t look like cast from "corpse bride". Joo and Sara were so fascinated that i told them Bugis does have such shops (all thanks to pageant's victorian theme).

Was tellin the gals that i want to sit by the window to have coffee and cakes... just like i always see on tv. So in order not to disappoint me, we went into this cafe called "Morning Glory". Since we are a bunch of of thrifty kids, we were praying that the stuff will be cheap. The menu says "tart --> $1". ok, i guess we have to consider that reasonable (SIN$1.40 for a small tart). haha. must get used to this... BUT at least, i get to have my coffee and tart by the window. haha! So having nothing better to do there, and also waiting to kill time till we are able to have dinner at WCRI(dap and kailin's hostel), we started taken spastic pictures.

ok, Joo is actually photogenic but she tends to look pretty retarted in some pics. haha. All because of the double-flash on the camera which it is famous for, at least among my frens. Once again, i gotta repeat this ..."it's for RED-EYE REDUCTION"...
