this is the aerial view of london. was amazed by how buildings and houses are tightly yet neatly arranged. will be exploring this place in 5months time. can't wait. and so.. 22hrs of journey on the plane is peanut for me. i slept a total of 12hrs and watched 3movies. Food was good (the different meals include food like salmon, curry chicken rice, omelette, ham and tomatoes sandwich etc) and ride was smooth... so much better than i expected.

Finally, arrival at toronto...
nice landlord picked me up from the pearson airport at toronto and bring me for a new-yr cum bday house party. I didnt have so much indian food for my entire life. . . her relatives are really friendly and i never felt left-out at any point in time. Though some of the food contained spices which i might not even try in Singapore, i still took a good serving due to hunger.

The 12-year-old bday boy had a dance performance specially dedicated to him by his 4cousins. And so the 4gals (ranging from 9-12yr old) are dancing energetically infront of all the family members. Sweet... I've never mix in such a big group of indians before.

Despite the landlord backing out and claimed that she wants to accompany her family so can't bring me for a new-yr-bash downtown, i still intend to follow her friends(ya, indians too!) to Nathan Philips Square for countdown. *starbucks coffee tastes soooo good in the cold weather. i finish the whole cup of HOT coffee in big gulp*.

The countdown is not exactly fantastic. About the same as what we can see in Singapore. The funny thing is that the other exchange students and i actually did new yr countdown for 3times. The first one was for Singapore(on the plane), then for london (on the plane), then for canada.

ok, so that was how i spend my new year in a foreign land. ok, this is another funny part: one of the gals was urgently seeking for toilet but almost the whole town is closed due to new yr celebration. This 50-yr-old guy came up to us and asked,"hi, ladies, what are u looking for?"

Friar(the girl who is with me on the bottom right grid): Hi, happy new year, we are actually looking for washroom.

guy:oh, juz walk towards that building and you can find one near the coffeeshop.

Just when i though he was so kind, he added:" hi gals, im actually a homeless guy. Do you mind sparing me some money?"

Friar:"oh sure, hold on(took out her wallet and gave him some coins). How do i address you? ..."

So they were chatting for quite abit for 30metres while waiting for more coins to drop to his hands. and he pointed out the location of the coffeeshop specifically.

guy:(towards friar)"you are really nice and i can call you in future..."

friar: "haha.. no no.. why will the homeless guy has a phone to call?"

guy:"well, he can use the coins that was given to him"

with a smile, friar walk away and on the way to the toilet, she keep saying that he's such a nice person and the kindest homeless guy she had ever met. *watever* Am i too unkind or is she not being practical?
